Celebrate the beginning of the New Year with our 1st annual 5K Run/Walk or 5K Run/Walk & Polar Bear Dunk.
Eagal Lakes invites you to celebrate the beginning of the New Year with a 5K run/walk that has an optional Polar Bear Dunk in to one of the lakes just prior to the event finish line area. The post-race celebration includes free chili, hot chocolate and coffee for all.
Stay Dry or Choose the Polar Bear Dunk:
Participants in this 3.1 mile run/walk can choose to stay dry and compete in the standard 5K run/walk or they can choose to select the optional Polar Bear 5K that takes a brief detour into the lake roughly 50 yards before the 5K finish line. Results for the standard 5K and the Polar Bear 5K will be scored separately.

Day of Race Schedule:
9:30 am – Registration & Packet pickup opens
11:00 am – Start of all 5K run/walk events
12:00 pm – Awards Ceremony
Post-Race Celebration:
Celebrate the New Year after the race! Located steps from the finish line area and the Polar Bear Dunk location, the Post-Race Celebration will include free chili, free hot chocolate and coffee. To keep you warm, we will have lit outdoor heaters.
Changing Room Tents:
We will have two gender specific changing room tents onsite for the Polar Bear Dunk participants to use to change into their dry clothes.

Post-Race Celebration:
Celebrate the New Year and your completion of the run/walk at the 5K & Polar Bear Race Celebration Area. Inclusive of a free chili feed with hot chocolate and coffee. The Post-Race Celebration Area will be located near the 5K finish line.
Free Chili Feed:
We will be serving free chili to everyone who participates in the event.
Course Options:
Stay dry in the standard 5K or start the New Year with a splash by registering for the Polar Bear Dunk version of the event. Both events use the same 5K course except that the Polar Bear Dunk version takes you on a quick detour near the end of the course down the beach into the chilly waters of Eagal Lakes where you must totally submerge your whole body into the water ( partial submersion means disqualification). The two events wil be timed separately.
