History
Eagal Lakes was purchased by John Eagal III over18 years ago with the dream to develop a sanctuary where families could grow and create long lasting bondswith one another as well as the environment. He wanted to create a place where he could merge his passion for wildlife and nature with his love for water sports and Eagal Lakes certainly does not disappoint!
About John Eagal III
John Eagal has been a water ski and outdoor enthusiast for most of his life. He spent the greater part of his adolescent years on the delta and learned how to water ski at a very young age. Years later he became a professional water skier and won state and regional championships as a 3-event skier in the American Water Ski Association. He also ran Eagal Island Water Ski Club on the delta for 25 years where he operated a ski school and offered a place for members to come out, water ski and enjoy the summer delta days.
Construction of the Lakes
We broke ground in the winter of 2004. John Eagal was hands on for the entire process of digging the lakes and you could be sure to find him on a tractor any day of the week during the development. After bringing in numerous earth movers, spent countless hours of hard labor, moved many tons of dirt, and ensured the scales were exactly precise, the Eagal family joined together on February 17, 2007 to watch the pumps turn on and fill the lakes!
